Do you want to better help your clients find their parenting style and truth?
Are you prone to be a rescuer or savior but know parents need to learn to navigate a lot without you?
Does centering the client and their wants and needs truly matter to you?
Could you do more (or maybe less) to help parents grow but are unsure what you could do differently?
In a society that prizes The Expert, parents can get lost trying to find "the right answer" to any question from experts in the form of podcasts, books, and the ever compliant Google search. The challenge is, that in the world of birth and new parenthood few such clear cut and universal "right answers" exist, even while experts shout from the rooftops that THEY have the answer!
How then can parents discover what's best for them? Many new and/or expectant parents wisely hire professionals--experts--to guide them through these unfamiliar landscapes. However, professionals in the field of labor and postpartum support often unintentionally fall into the role of resident expert telling their client all the professional thinks the client needs to know. In so doing, the professional reinforces "expert culture" which can actually make the client more dependent on others to tell them what they should think, do, buy, and care about.
There is another way.
You can skillfully learn how to support your client following the principle that they are the expert in their own life.
In this one hour free class, we will explore simple and actionable steps you can start practicing with your clients right away. These tools return the center of power and agency to the clients.
